Merryn Warming up in Australia

Merryn Aldridge is a sports physiotherapist with a research-based background in high performance sport, and a deep belief in movement as a foundation for both physical and mental health.

She has worked extensively in elite sporting environments, including roles with the New South Wales Institute of Sport and Athletics Australia, supporting athletes performing at the highest level. This experience shaped a strong foundation in biomechanics, anatomy, load management, and performance optimisation — but also highlighted the limitations of a purely physical approach to the body.

As an ex-athlete, Merryn understands the discipline, pressure, and identity that often accompany high performance. Years of pushing physical limits brought success, but also imbalance, leading her to explore a more integrated approach to health — one that connects movement, breathing, recovery, and the nervous system.

Motherhood became a defining chapter in this journey. Following a traumatic birth and significant loss of strength in her right leg, Merryn was forced to rebuild her body under physical constraints she had never experienced before. This period deepened her understanding of rehabilitation, patience, and mindful movement, and fundamentally reshaped the way she approaches physiotherapy.

Today, Merryn’s work blends science, clinical reasoning, and lived experience. Her approach supports people who want to move better, reduce pain, and perform well — without disconnecting from their body or burning themselves into the ground.

Based in Lavender Bay, Merryn works with professionals, athletes, and active individuals across North Sydney who value thoughtful, individualised care. Her philosophy centres on helping people build resilient bodies, develop awareness, and unlock their physical potential through movement that is both intelligent and sustainable.
